After supporting different social programmes for a number of years, the German footballer Philipp Lahm set up the Philipp Lahm Foundation for Sport and Education, inaugurated on December 11th 2007.  The foundation deed was presented to him by Christoph Hillenbrand, President of the District Government of Upper Bavaria (Germany).

“The alleviation of the hardship and suffering of disadvantaged children and young people all over the world is something that really matters to me. I believe that in addition to financial investment and improved education and training, supporting young sporting talent – especially in my sport, football - can make a significant contribution. That is why I have decided to set up the Philipp Lahm Foundation.”
